Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Tartine is an app that turns recipes you share from social networks or the web into readable recipes. This policy explains what data we process, why, and your rights, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR.
1. Controller
Farid Rehila, Nyon (VD), Suisse / Schweiz / Switzerland. Contact: hello@matartine.com
2. Data we process
- Account: an anonymous account ID created automatically on first launch. You don't need to provide your name or email.
- Content you share: the links (reels, videos, web pages) you send to Tartine, and the recipes, favorites and grocery lists linked to your account.
- Notifications: your device's push token and the app language, if you turn notifications on.
- App usage: pseudonymous usage events (screens viewed, recipes imported, app version, device model, approximate country) to understand and improve the app.
- Diagnostics: technical crash reports.
- Purchases: your subscription status. Payment is handled by Apple; we never access your payment details.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service: fetch the public content of the shared link, extract the recipe, save it to your cookbook and notify you when it's ready (performance of contract).
- To improve the app and fix bugs (legitimate interest).
- To send notifications (your consent, which you can withdraw in your device settings).
- To manage your subscription (performance of contract).
4. Service providers
- Cloudflare: API hosting, database, image storage.
- Bright Data: fetching the public content (caption, video, thumbnail) of the link you share.
- Google (Gemini API): analyzing that public content to extract the recipe.
- Expo and Apple: delivering notifications.
- PostHog (EU hosting): usage analytics.
- Sentry: crash reports.
- RevenueCat and Apple: subscription management.
Some providers are located outside Switzerland and the EU, notably in the United States. These transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (Swiss-U.S. / EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).
5. Retention
We keep your data as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the data linked to it (cookbook, favorites, grocery lists, push tokens) is deleted within 30 days. Recipes extracted from public content may be kept without any link to your account, so already-analyzed content isn't processed again. Usage analytics are kept for up to 24 months.
6. Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion or portability of your data, or object to certain processing. You can delete your data directly in the app (Settings) or email us at hello@matartine.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local data protection authority.
7. Children
Tartine is not directed at children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
